Introduced in 1997 the Daewoo Joyster was produced by the Korean firm Daewoo. Unfortunately the company had a problem of image, it was never one of marketing success based on hand-me-downs from oilier makers. In 1994 Daewoo improved its design credential by acquiring the IAD design offices in Worthin, Britain and by founding a design center in Bavaria. The first design to be produced was the 1996 Mya concept. In 1997 Daewoo stepped up its concept-car versions with the launch of a whole vault of dream cars. These produced a glimpse of enticing future possibilities. Most exciting of all Daewoo's dream cars was the Joyster, a highly character and compact 13 foot long two-seater roaster. The Joyster featured vertically stacked lights front and rear along with a very distinctive front grille in which the traditional Daewoo fan that was flanked by curious panels drilled with holes of different sizes. The Joyster was reminiscent of the Ghia.
